MJ’s Story Time and Craft- The Frog Prince

MJfrogprincecraft

The first in the series for “MJ’s Story Time and Craft”

As part of MJ’s Homeschool this year in Kindergarten. We read stories and for some books we do an activity or craft.

This week we read

The Frog Prince (We Both Read) ,” adapted by Sindy McKay.

The Moral of the story was “ A promise is a promise”.

The story was also a “we both read” beginning reader and MJ helped read a few words too.

We Finished Moving

Moving is the worst and best thing. I was so excited to move into a bigger place, but as the moving started I was not feeling it.

I always get stuck with the organizing, and moving all the small stuff while my hubby does the big heavy stuff. It’s not fair because he thinks he did the hard work when that is so not true.

The hard work is boxing everything up, knowing where everything is going to go, unpacking everything, and then organizing it.

All the while he is at work and when he comes home to a clean organized house and acts like it was no big deal because he didn’t see the mountain of crap all over the house before it was lugged up the stairs and all put in it’s place.

I swear he thinks I can twinkle my nose or wave my wand and everything goes poof into place. I wish.

We are finally done moving and arranging everything and I am so exhausted. Everyone is happier with more room and the newness of it all.

I never want to move again!!!

Homeschool Activities Starting Back Up

Sprint PictureMail

Busy schedule back in full swing. All our homeschool extra activities have started up again and we are back on track with our homeschool work.

It took a few weeks to get used to a full day of school after all the summer running and some relaxing. I only have two kids to homeschool now, but MJ’s school is more demanding since she’s 4 and her school entails creative things to keep her learning and playing, plus she wants 100% of my attention.

She doesn’t have a lot of book work of course, although she likes it. Activities like crafts and even just pretend play she still wants sis and I to do them too and it can be distracting to JEM’s school stuff.

Now throw three, sometimes four activities away from home and it’s even more challenging.

We have homeschool Gym-n-Swim on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 3 and Harbor Homeschool Group on Fridays from 12:30 to 4. These take a chunk of our days, but I count Harbor as school since both kids get to participate in a kind of co-op class.

Gym-n-Swim is their P.E. so to say and we do school before it and library time after.
