Mother’s Day was wonderful. Cathy and I, with our families went to Brown County State Park. Our original plan for the day was to work on our garden at her house because we have had a difficult time fitting it into our crazy schedules. So we were going to work on mother’s day.
I say work because we are not gardeners and this will be my first garden. The plan changed when her hubby said he was up for going somewhere and mine was just going with the flow. But then the dreadful question was where do we want to go.
We both did not want to make any decisions. It’s Mother’s day, we don’t want to make anymore decisions for just one stinkin day. We got lucky and didn’t have to. Cathy’s brother-in-law said he was going to Brown county so we followed. My hubby grumbled of course. He thought we were going to hike or something.
We did go on a hike but it wasn’t the kind of hiking he was worrying about. We drove over to the trail with a lake and dam because it was a short trail that would be interesting to the kids.
I guess my hubby thinks hiking is power walking through the forest or something, and he wasn’t going. I left him at the picnic area with our grumpy teenage son J to have some bonding time.
Cathy her hubby, me, and our pack of kidos strolled the trail around the lake. It was wonderful, and peaceful, when the rugrats ran ahead. Oh and I almost forgot. Roll around on the ground hilarious!
The picture below was a rock bridge with a small space underneath that Cathy wanted MJ and SB to crawl under for a photo.
MJ was scared (mom too) that she would slip. So Cathy says “She’ll be fine, see.” grabbing her hand and helping her down the side to crawl under, when oops down goes Cathy sliding on her butt.
I was freaked out at first but as soon as she slipped I couldn’t help but laugh so hard that I was rolling on the ground. Sorry to say, but that made my day. Haven’t laughed that hard in awhile. Cathy was okay, little pissed I laughed. She laughed too though.
And we got the picture too. Since Cathy was already down there.
Thought I should add a picture of me even though I hate them.
And one of Cathy.
The kids collected various critters on our stroll around the lake. Here they found tad poles and a salamander.
Very still dragonfly. Not sure if he was sleeping or dead.
